In an effort to continue improving the way in which it provides advice and guidance to the Alpha, the Alumni Board has recruited Matt Chesner, ZΔ ’10, to serve as Zeta Delta’s Alumni Adviser for the 2018-2019 school year.

Brother Chesner was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in the Southwest suburb of LaGrange. He graduated from Lyons Township High School in 2006 and graduated from the University of Illinois in 2010 with a Bachelor of Music Education.

While a student at the U. of I., Brother Chesner was a member of the storied Illinois Band Program and played trumpet in the Marching Illini. He also served as Pledge Educator for our Alpha.

He obtained a Master of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in 2013 and is currently in his 3rd year teaching instrumental music and music theory at Rantoul Township High School in Rantoul, IL. He resides in Champaign, Illinois.

As the Alpha’s Alumni Adviser, Brother Chesner will serve an important role in assisting the Alpha in its operations, ensuring compliance with risk management policies, and assisting the Alpha in recruitment and new member education. He will meet with the Brotherhood on a regular basis and attend events and will provide important support and advice to the Undergraduates throughout the semester. He will also serve as a liaison between the Alpha and the Alumni Board.

We’re excited to have Brother Chesner on board this year to serve in this important capacity. We encourage all Alumni to seek him out next time you visit the Lodge to thank him for his service to Zeta Delta.
